The nest is stirred.
YHWH disrupts the place in which His people had become settled or enslaved. Deliverance may begin with unsettling circumstances.
He hovers over them.
He watches and guards before, during and after the departure.
He spreads His wings.
He places Himself between His children and danger.
He takes them up.
Their deliverance depends upon His strength, not theirs.
He bears them.
They move, but He carries the weight of their survival.
“YHWH alone did lead him.”
The wings especially signify divine agency. No strange god, empire or human savior receives the glory.
