How To Walk In Torah

Wherefore he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Messiah shall give you light”
Ephesians 5:14

There is an amazing phenomenon happening all around the world.  The Most High is awakening a generation; a remnant that is “coming out of her” and returning to the true service of our creator. We are being shown, that we are to worship him the way it was decreed long ago, the ancient path.

Thus says Yahuah, Stand you in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Listen to the sound of the shofar. But they said, We will not hearken.”
Jeremiah 6:16-17

The ancient generations stiffened their necks and said no, we won’t do it your way — we will continue the traditions passed down. But you’re here because you know it’s time to do things his way, even if you don’t fully know what that looks like yet. While many are preparing physically for the end-times, we believe that true faith, and straightening out your walk with your maker, is the most important part of prepping for the last days.

He that says he abides in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.”
1 John 2:6-7

Perhaps you’ve woken up to the reality that our walk is to consist of faith and works. In other words, we show our faith by our works.

But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works
James 2:18

This study will be for those who desire to walk in Yahuah’s way, his Torah — needing a bit of guidance of ‘How To’. While this is positioned for those who are new in this faith, even those who’ve been awake to the Truth for years should be able to glean information.  If by chance you stumbled across this study and have no idea why believers want to keep the law (Torah), feel free to see this short study (29 min):

“And as I scattered them among the nations, and they were remembering my fear in a distant land, so shall they prolong the years of their life with their children and shall return”
Zechariah 10:9 Aramaic Targums

Okay, so you want to walk in Torah. How do we actually do it in these last days?

First thing’s first.  Don’t stress out, take it one day at a time. Walking in Torah is likened to a tree, or plant bearing fruit.

But his delight is in the Torah of Yahuah; and in his Torah does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:2-3

Look at the picture above.  The tomato plant isn’t able to bear the weight of the fruit until it grows and strengthens.  This walk takes time and patience, just as the farmer waits for the crop in its due time.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby
1 Peter 2:2

As we know, babies are born and over time they learn to Crawl, then Walk, then Run (these will be sub-sections).  Likewise, we as children of Elohim grow in the faith; everything doesn’t happen overnight. Remember to remain patient at all times, as Yahuah will give you growth over time as you pursue him.  What we are about to present may not all happen in this particular order, nevertheless, we will share the different phases of growth of ‘The Walk’ in Torah.

We also must realize that there are many laws in the Torah, and you won’t be able to keep them all, even if you wanted to. In fact, not even our Messiah was able to do so.  Here’s why (chart is courtesy of HalleluYah Scriptures):

As you can see above, some laws are only for living in ‘the land’, some are for women only, some for men, some for kings, some for priests, some for the high priests and so on.  This study will cover the basics of Torah keeping that all can adhere to. For further information past the basics, we will have a resource for you at the end of this study.

Crawling

But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Matthew 18:6

We as mothers and fathers love our babies, there’s no debate. So does Yahuah!  What is more precious than a little baby?  With this in mind, let us always have patience with each other as we are in different phases of growth, at different times. Also, if you’re in this stage, he doesn’t love you any less, just as you wouldn’t love your infant less than your toddler, or teenager son/daughter.

Belief/Faith

Nothing happens without faith, this is the footing and root of our entire walk and existence. We must recognize that salvation is found only through belief in the atonement of our Messiah’s offering of himself, the sacrifice at the cross/stake/tree. No matter how much Yahuah allows us to learn, or how well we grow, we can never abandon the ‘basics’, yet, we are instructed to grow beyond this point, something the modern day church institutions do not do.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to Elohim must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”
Hebrews 11:6

This whole study is based on the desire to diligently seek our creator.

Repentance

“He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy”
Proverbs 28:13

Confess your sins before Yahuah, have a broken heart before him, knowing you’ve done what was evil in his sight.  Then, walk away from these sins and with all your might, never return to them.

Yahuah is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9

Beloved, do not let sin prevail over you, win the war through the strength of the spirit of Elohim within you.

We all have fallen short, and we all mess up. The key is to get back up, stay on the straight path and don’t repeat your evil ways.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that you sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Yahusha Ha’Mashiach the righteous:”
1 John 2:1

Praise be to Yahuah that we have forgiveness through Messiah Yahusha!  Truly, without him, we are nothing! Nevertheless, we do not continue in sin. We repent, confess and forgiven. Do not return and continue sin willfully, using this forgiveness as a license to sin.

“As free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of Elohim.”
1 Peter 2:16

If you have sinned grievously, and feel unworthy to move forward in his Truth, please see this short (17 min) study. Get back up brethren!

Baptism/Immersion

And he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned”
Mark 16:15-16

Make no delay.  If you have not been baptized, there is no better time than now. Next is a passage from the Book of Acts, where Peter makes a bold proclamation about belief in Messiah. Then the people of Jerusalem ask a very important question in regards to salvation:

Brethren, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 2:37-38

Find someone near you that you trust, to baptize you.  You do not need to go to a church or have a pastor do it.  You can even do it yourself if you have to, just get it done!  If you’d like more information about baptism, see this short study here:

THE FIRST FOUR

In Acts 15, at the council in Jerusalem, the apostles set 4 standards that new converts had adhere to immediately:

But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollution of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood”
Acts 15:20

Before you go any further in your walk, these four things need to be stopped at once before attempting to serve Yahuah. Otherwise, you will not find growth (see the parable of the sower).

Idolatry (Pollution of Idols)

Most of you aren’t bowing down to idols at this point, great job!  Nevertheless, modern day idolatry can come in many forms. Sports, collectables, cars, homes, celebrities, money, video games, addictions (drug, alcohol) etc… I’d highly recommend self examining to find out what could be idols in your heart.

“Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and set the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces. Should I indeed let myself be consulted by them?
Ezekiel 14:3

What’s in your heart?  If you’ve ever gardened before, then you’ll know that weeds need to be taken out. Otherwise, it will be robbing the fruit or vegetable bearing plant of nutrients and water. For a weed to be destroyed, it needs to be plucked up by the roots. Likewise, these idols need to be ‘weeded’ from your life at the very root.

Fornication

If you have small children present, the following portion may not be suitable for them.

Fornication can be viewed in many different ways in our modern world.  Take a look at the breakdown of the Greek word ‘Porneia’ used in Acts 15:20: Link

Fornication is unlawful sexual relations. However, I truly believe that online pornography, alongside masturbation is the worst offender in our generation.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body. What? don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of Elohim, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify Elohim in your body, and in your spirit, which are Elohim’s.”
1 Cor 6:18-20

“And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
Matthew 18:9

Listen, I don’t think he really wants any of us gouging our eyes out, but clearly our messiah is making a point!  Cease from your sinning, especially with what enters your eyes!

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto Elohim, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto Elohim.”
Romans 6:12-13

If you’re struggling with porn, lust, or even the addictions mentioned in the idolatry section, this is a time for prayer and fasting — petitioning Yahuah, that he help you break free of these chains.

“Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?”
Isaiah 58:6

There’s a war out there for your soul. The demonic forces want to keep you locked in a prison cell of sin, do not let them win. Sometimes, the only way these strongholds can be diminished is through prayer and fasting. Break free brothers and sisters.

If you keep slipping up, consider praying and fasting.  Fasting can come in many different ways, however, if you can do it, try 3 days of water only, praying and seeking Yahuah to deliver you and root out this enemy from your midst, that you may walk in Truth before him.  You can do it.

Motivation for the end-times:

“Hear, my elect,” says Yahuah. “Behold, the days of tribulation are at hand, and I will deliver you from them. Do not fear or doubt, for Elohim is your guide. You who keep my commandments and precepts,” says Yahuah Elohim, “do not let your sins pull you down, or your iniquities prevail over you.” Woe to those who are choked by their sins and overwhelmed by their iniquities, as a field is choked with underbrush and its path overwhelmed with thorns, so that no one can pass through! It is shut off and given up to be consumed by fire.”
2 Esdras 16:74-78 1611 KJV

For additional assistance with breaking free, see this video:

Things (animals) Strangled & Blood

In those days, it was common practice for Greeks and Romans to eat food with the blood, something strictly forbidden in the Torah. Here’s an example:

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul. Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourns among you eat blood. And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunts and catches any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, You shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eats it shall be cut off.”
Leviticus 17:11-14

While most modern day butchers do drain the blood of animals when slaughtered, it may be a good idea to source your meat.  If you live in areas where you can buy directly from butchers or local farmers, I think this is the best idea. Considering how often this precept was given, it is very clear that our Father does not want us doing so. Eating with the blood is very satanic and ritualistic in witchcraft, something we need to stay far from. You may not be familiar, but blood is a main ingredient in many dishes around the world.

Walking

“Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise”
Ephesians 5:15

We are wise by following the commandments, the Torah of Yahuah.

Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as Yahuah Elohim commanded me, that you should do so in the land whither you go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”
Deuteronomy 4:5-6

For more on being either wise or foolish, see this study here:

The 10 Commandments

We know our teacher taught us the two greatest commandments, loving Yahuah and your neighbor as yourself.  The 10 commandments and the Torah tell us what that actually looks like in practice. The creator isn’t looking for lip service, he’s looking for action.

This people draws close to me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
Matthew 15:8-9

None of us want to be guilty of worshiping him in vain, so let’s learn it his way.

1

I am YAHUAH, which have brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other elohim before me.”
Exodus 20:3

Plain and simple, we serve Yahuah and no false elohim. We serve him by keeping his ways. Even if we attempt to serve him, but in a false way, we are not upholding the 1st commandment. False way = false worship.

For they went and served other elohim, and worshiped them, elohim whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:”
Deuteronomy 29:26

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve Elohim and mammon (money)”
Matthew 6:24

“Do not covet riches, for though few men possess them, all who do are not free but are themselves possessed by their wealth”
Book of the Natsarim 3:18

Though we have jobs, families and a multitude of responsibilities, we serve Yahuah first and foremost.

2

You shall not make unto you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I Yahuah your Elohim am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”
Exodus 20:4-6

We don’t serve dumb idols, we serve the living Elohim. Catholicism is still guilty of this very commandment. Perhaps this is why they took that one out of their version of the 10 commandments.

Has the ‘cross’ even become an ‘idol’? Perhaps.  One thing I’d suggest, is not bowing down to any object made with human hands. Considering we discussed internal/spiritual Idolatry earlier, we will move forward.

3

You shall not take the name of Yahuah your Elohim in vain; for Yahuah will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain.”
Exodus 20:7

There are various interpretations of this commandment and I don’t necessarily disagree with any of them.  One may say that we cannot use Yahuah’s name as a curse word. Well, that’s certainly a great thing to avoid!  Another may say, that we don’t diminish his name, as in, we shouldn’t use titles, such as ‘God’, or ‘Lord’; to this, I also agree is a great idea.  Some have ventured to say that we shouldn’t ‘swear’ falsely by his name. Example; “As Yahuah lives, I did not do such and such” (but it was a lie), this is also relevant. ‘His name’ can also be a representation of his character, which is revealed through his Torah, prophets and writings. By taking ‘his name’ in vain, we could be a bad representation of him, which leads into the last type of interpretation of this commandment.

“But unto the wicked Elohim says, What have you to do to declare my statutes, or that you should take my covenant in thy mouth?”
Psalm 50:16

Truly, in my opinion, the best way of defining this command is this;  claiming to be his (I’m a follower of Yah) and not acting according to his will, thus putting a stain on his name through your actions. Consider the company UPS. They are clearly noticed and visible with the big brown delivery trucks.

Now imagine if you saw one of these trucks swerving in and out of traffic, cutting people off; perhaps even causing an accident. Would seeing this help or hurt the ‘name’ of UPS? What kind of representation of Yahuah and his son do we portray? Much like when I was in the USMC, they repeatedly told us — when you’re out in public, especially in uniform, you are representing the entire Marine Corps, SO DON’T DO ANYTHING DUMB (other words were used…)

“And why call ye me, master, master, and do not the things which I say?”
Luke 6:46

4

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahuah your Elohim. In it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant (employees), nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: For in six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
Exodus 20:8-11

The Sabbath is the big one in my opinion.  Modern day christianity typically follows many of the precepts from the 10 commandments, however, the Sabbath is a huge stumbling block.  The Sabbath itself is one of the ‘signs’, or ‘marks’ that Yahuah puts on his people:

The Roman Catholic Church changed the day of ‘rest’ and ‘worship’ from the last day of the week (Saturday) to the first day of the week (Sunday).  For more information on the Sabbath and how to keep it ‘Holy’, or ‘Set apart’, please see this study:

In short, on the 7th day of the week, we rest from our labors. It is a day for putting down our employment, gathering with other like-minded believers, and praising and worshiping our creator! It’s a day to shut off the world and draw closer to him than any day!

There remains therefore a Shabbat for the people of Elohim. For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as Elohim did from his. Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”
Hebrews 4:9-11

As many are finding out, the Shabbat is the best day of the week and is an amazing gift to us from the Father!

And he said unto them, The Shabbat was made for man, and not man for the Shabbat”
Mark 2:27

5

Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which Yahuah your Elohim gives you.”
Exodus 20:12

We live in a day and age where some of us may not have had the ‘best’ parents on earth.  Doesn’t matter, find a way to reconcile and honor them. Here’s some wisdom concerning this amazing commandment:

Listen to me your father, O children; and act accordingly, that you may be kept in safety. For Yahuah honored the father above the children, and he confirmed the right of the mother over her sons. Whoever honors his father atones for sins, and whoever glorifies his mother is like one who lays up treasure. Whoever honors his father will be gladdened by his own children, and when he prays he will be heard. Whoever glorifies his father will have long life, and whoever obeys Yahuah will refresh his mother; he will serve his parents as his masters.Honor your father by word and deed, that a blessing from him may come upon you. For a father’s blessing strengthens the houses of the children, but a mother’s curse uproots their foundations. Do not glorify yourself by dishonoring your father, for your father’s dishonor is no glory to you. For a man’s glory comes from honoring his father, and it is a disgrace for children not to respect their mother. O son, help your father in his old age, and do not grieve him as long as he lives; even if he is lacking in understanding, show forbearance; in all your strength do not despise him. For kindness to a father will not be forgotten, and against your sins it will be credited to you; in the day of your affliction it will be remembered in your favor; as frost in fair weather, your sins will melt away. Whoever forsakes his father is like a blasphemer, and whoever angers his mother is cursed by Yahuah.”
Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 3:1-16

Find a way to honor your parents today!

6

Thou shalt not murder.”
Exodus 20:13

This is a basic principle of life. We do not take the life of others in cold blood. Our Messiah even went a step further, letting us know that hatred for a brother in our heart is also breaking this commandment!

“You have heard that it was said of them of old time, you shall not murder; and whosoever shall murder shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, you fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.”
Matthew 5:21-22

Be careful out there brothers and sisters, we are called to love one another, even our enemies!  For more on love, see 1 Corinthians 13, and this in-depth study on scriptural love for one another:

It should be known, that murder is not the same meaning as kill.

7

You shall not commit adultery.”
Exodus 20:14

Pretty simple.  We are not to sleep with each other’s spouses. Sounds like this would be a law common to all people, however, this is not the case.

“And all the people of Sodom and Gomorrah went there four times in the year, with their wives and children and all belonging to them, and they rejoiced there with timbrels and dances. And in the time of rejoicing they would all rise and lay hold of their neighbor’s wives, and some, the virgin daughters of their neighbors, and they enjoyed them, and each man saw his wife and daughter in the hands of his neighbor and did not say a word. And they did so from morning to night, and they afterward returned home each man to his house and each woman to her tent; so they always did four times in the year.
Jasher 18:13-15

Sick…

“For it was a law of the Amorites, that she who was about to marry should sit in fornication seven days by the gate.”
Tesament of Judah 2:23

Our wonderful teacher expands this basic precept:

“You have heard that it was said by them of old time, you shall not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart”
Matthew 5:27-28

We discussed lust and fornication at length in the ‘Idolatry’ section earlier, so we will continue forward.

8

You shall not steal.”
Exodus 20:15

What are you still doing stealing other people’s belongings?  Would you want someone to steal your stuff? Seriously though, we cannot be thieves brethren!

Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Luke 6:31

How chaotic would life be with perpetual theft?

Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his hands, so that he may be able to give to those in need
Ephesians 4:28

Stealing can come in many forms in this current age. Consider it at every corner.

9

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Exodus 20:16

This command at it’s core, is about giving ‘witness’ to an action or crime that could potentially incarcerate, punish, or lead to the execution of someone.

The judges shall inquire diligently, and if the witness is a false witness and has accused his brother falsely, then you shall do to him as he had meant to do to his brother. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.”
Deuteronomy 19:18-19

Lying in general is not good either.

Do not devise a lie against your brother, nor do the like to a friend. Refuse to utter any lie, for the habit of lying serves no good.”
Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 7:12-13

Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator
Colossians 3:9-10

10

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house, you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor’s.”
Exodus 20:17

Coveting has a new facelift; consumerism.  “Keeping up with the Jones’s”. If you’re still in the rat race of having to always buy the latest ‘thing’; be it, cars, clothing, shoes etc… You may have an issue with coveting — desiring what others have.  Not only does coveting lead to irrational spending, debt and waste, but other sins.  Murder, adultery, theft, these typically stem from ‘coveting’.  Guard your heart and souls brothers and sisters.  Also, keep watch on your eyes and ears.  Commercials are created with craftiness to pierce your subconscious. Be satisfied with what you have at all times, and you won’t have to worry about coveting anything.

But seek ye first the kingdom of Elohim, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33

Also:

Not that I speak from need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with little, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.”
Philippians 4:11-12

At the end of the day, we should be able to reflect back on his commandments and realize this:

Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as Yahuah my Elohim commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who has Elohim so nigh unto them, as Yahuah our Elohim is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this Torah, which I set before you this day.”
Deuteronomy 4:5-8

Jogging

Clean eating is essential for both the body and spirit. Our creator knows best — what is food for our bodies and what is not. A full list of unclean foods can be found within Leviticus 11, and Deuteronomy 14. The most common offenders in mainstream diets are: pork and shellfish (oysters, clams, shrimp, lobster, crab etc..). I can assure you, that our Messiah did not change the food laws. Many use Acts 10 as evidence for eating whatever we would like, although it is a distortion of the Word.  Here is a playlist with four quick studies on why we should be abiding by the food laws our Heavenly Father gave us:

Prophetic motivation:

“Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating swine’s flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, says Yahuah”
Isaiah 66:17

Feast Days of YHWH Instead of The World’s ‘Holidays’

but they mixed with the nations and learned to do as they did. Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds.”
-Psalm 106:35 & 39

As we know, Satan is the deceiver and he has certainly done his job with the masses. He has lead them to disobeying the commandments of Yahuah, either through false religion or different degrees of unbelief (atheism, agnostic etc…). Not only this, but even ‘Christians’ are deceived; particularly his Sabbath and feast days. These are the very core of our walk and our show of allegiance to The Most High.  Has the enemy used its devices by planning a scheme to deceive the world, especially believers?  Absolutely.

Brothers and sisters, a large part of coming out of Babylon, is no longer celebrating pagan festivals, especially those under the guise of attempting to serve the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (golden calf example). What are we saying?  It’s time to drop man-made traditions that inherently serve another god, because he tells us not to worship him in the same way the nations do:

Take heed to yourself that you be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before you; and that you inquire not after their elohiym, saying, How did these nations serve their elohiym? even so will I do likewise. You shall not do so unto YAHUAH ELOHAYKA: for every abomination to YAHUAH, which he hates, have they done unto their elohiym; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their elohiym. What thing soever I command you, guard to do it: you shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.”
Deuteronomy 12:30-32

Christmas and Easter are perfect examples of pagan festivals that were mixed into the faith and ended up replacing (in the minds of the masses) our scriptural command to keep his true Sabbath and feast days. The amazing news, is Yah is waking up a generation and removing us far from this continued whoring!  Will you come out of her?

“Then those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken over their whoring heart that has departed from me and over their eyes that go whoring after their idols. And they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils that they have committed, for all their abominations.”
Ezekiel 6:9

The Feasts of Yahuah

Leviticus 23 states these are his feasts. They came from him, not the Jews.

Leviticus 23:4
These are the feasts of YAHUAH, even holy assemblies, which ye shall proclaim in their appointed times.

Brothers and sisters, just as he gave us the Sabbath as a gift, the same is true for his feast days.  Giving up the world’s holidays may seem daunting at first, or it may seem like you’re loosing something. HARDLY!  His feasts are much more enjoyable and fulfilling! There’s something ancient and fulfilling about walking in his way instead of the worlds.  You have to experience it for yourself.  There’s nothing that could take me away from his Feast days at this point.

His 7 Feast days are; Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Shabuot (Pentecost), Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Sukkot. If you’d like more information on how to guard these amazing festivals, check out this playlist here, where we cover each one in detail:

If you’d like to know when to celebrate these days, here is our 2021 – 2025 Feast Day and New Moon Calendar: https://pofthevineyard.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/POTV-CALENDAR-21-25-update.pdf

If you’d like to know how we operate the calendar, check out this ‘Calendar’ video:

Take it one step at a time.  You probably won’t get it all right the first year, or maybe even the second. Just focus on setting your heart to do them with all that you have.  I can’t speak for Yahuah, but I can only imagine him being overjoyed that a group of people are coming out of Babylon, and are wanting to serve him as he decreed it from long ago!

Using the True Names of our Father and his Son, and Not Titles

Many of us have found an immense blessing in using the true names of the Father and his Son.

Then they that feared Yahuah spake often one to another: and Yahuah hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared Yahuah, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, says Yahuah Tseba’ot, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him. Then shall you return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves Elohim and him that serves him not.”
Malachi 3:16-18

As we mentioned in the third commandment section, we believe ‘his name’ can be taken literal and figuratively.

I, Ezra, saw on Mount Zion a great multitude, which I could not number, and they all were praising Yahuah with songs. In their midst was a young man of great stature, taller than any of the others, and on the head of each of them he placed a crown, but he was more exalted than they. And I was held spellbound. Then I asked an angel, “Who are these, my adoni?” He answered and said to me, “These are they who have put off mortal clothing and have put on the immortal, and they have confessed the name of Elohim; now they are being crowned, and receive palms.” Then I said to the angel, “Who is that young man who places crowns on them and puts palms in their hands?” He answered and said to me, “He is the Son of Elohim, whom they confessed in the world.” So I began to praise those who had stood valiantly for the name of Yahuah.
2 Esdras 2:33-47

There is much debate as to the true pronunciations of the Father and his Son, and we do not promote any attacking of other attempts to get it right. Remember, we are simply his children waking up to the Truth, and we are supposed to be on the same team! With that being said, here are some resources as to why we believe that the Father’s name is Yahuah, and his Son, Yahusha.

Yahuah & Yahusha Name Playlist:

May Yahuah guide you as you seek this out yourself.

Running

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.  Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Patience, patience, patience brothers and sisters.  Yahuah will give you wisdom in due time, and don’t forget to ask for it (James 1:5). One recurring theme I’ve seen in this called out assembly — burn out, or falling back into lawlessness. Either due to persecution (mocking or ridicule from family, friends, co-workers etc…), or tests that come your way to try your faith (are you really in this for the long haul?) and offense comes, then they fall away.

“Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of our Adonai. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of our Adonai is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of Yahuah. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of Yahuah, how Yahuah is compassionate and merciful.”
James 5:7-11

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”
Hebrews 12:1

Persecution and/or Trials along the Way

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal which comes upon you to prove you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice in so far as you share Messiah’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are reproached for the name of Messiah, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory and of Elohim rests upon you.
1 Peter 4:12-14

Waking up out of Babylon and walking in the truth doesn’t necessarily mean the ‘red carpet’ is rolled out for you and things immediately get easier. On the contrary, in many testimonies and my own personal experience, things may get tougher for a while. This is for your own good. Take it in stride and patience, no matter what comes your way.

My son, if you come forward to serve Yahuah, prepare yourself for testing. Set your heart right and be steadfast, and do not be hasty in time of calamity. Cleave to him and do not depart, that you may be honored at the end of your life. Accept whatever is brought upon you, and in changes that humble you be patient. For gold is tested in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of humiliation.”
Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 2:1-5

Affliction and chastening is from above. During these times of testing, you will more than likely learn something valuable and grow.

“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of Yahuah, nor be weary when reproved by him. For Yahuah disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” It is for discipline that you have to endure. Elohim is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Hebrews 12:6-11

Also, you must know that Satan will try and get you back, as he is at war with those who have the testimony of Yahusha, and keep the commandments of Elohim (Revelation 12:17).

When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.”
Matthew 13:19

He may launch an all-out assault on you to get you back into lawlessness. Resist. Each one of us are different, we have various triggers and a diverse number stumbling blocks. Nevertheless, he will tempt  you to give back into your lusts, or anger, or any sort of wickedness you may have indulged in times past. He may be allowed to test you via pain, death, sickness, financially (remember Job)… Stay true and faithful brethren. You will be rewarded if you endure patiently.

Submit yourselves therefore to Elohim. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to Elohim, and he will draw near to you.”
James 4:7-8

Love for One Another

Can you imagine how our Father would feel, if after waking up thousands of his children, all they did was argue with one another over doctrine?

Too often, people get caught up into thinking another brother or sister is the ‘enemy of the truth’ if they have a different interpretation; regarding the Hebrew names, the calendar, when the Sabbath begins and ends and so on.  These topics are important, but if you tear down a fellow believer over them, you’ve missed the bigger picture.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Adonai, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
Ephesians 4:1-3

Remember this photograph?  Let’s imagine you’re on the right (mature) and speaking with another ‘plant’ of Yahuah who’s in their earlier stages (babe). We have to have patience and understanding with one another.  Not eager to tear down, but to build up. Surely, speak the truth as it’s been shown to you, but do so in love, meekness and humility brothers and sisters.  This is the big test during the ‘marathon’ we run.

How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who cause divisions, having not the Spirit. But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, Keep yourselves in the love of Elohim, looking for the mercy of our Adonai Yahusha Ha’Mashiach unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”
Jude 1:18-23

Patience and meekness!

If a man says, I love Elohim, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, how can he love Elohim whom he has not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loves Elohim love his brother also.”
1 John 4:20-21

And the servant of Yahuah must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if Elohim perhaps will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the Truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
2 Timothy 2:24-26

He Teaches the Meek and Humble, Not The Proud and Arrogant

“The meek will he guide in judgment: the humble will he teach his ways”
Psalm 25:9

We must remain humble, meek and patient, otherwise our ‘wisdom’ is in vain.

“But he gives more grace. Wherefore he says, Elohim resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.”
James 4:6

When the wheat (left) bears it’s fruit, it ‘bows down’, in resemblance to humility and meekness.  Whereas the tares (right) stand stiff and tall, in the likeness of stubbornness, stiffened neck, and proud.  Which will you be when you reach maturity?

Though Yahuah be high, yet has he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knows afar off.”
Psalm 138:6

A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.”
Proverbs 29:23

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Matthew 23:12

For an in-depth study of what a walk of humility and meekness looks like, please see this study here:

Unbelieving or Unequally Yoked Spouses

I can’t speak for Yahuah here, but only from experience in my own home — what works and what doesn’t work.  If you have a spouse who’s just not quite with you on this journey, be a light to them.  Don’t be angry or bitter or rude if their eyes haven’t been opened yet.  Perhaps this is a test for you both?

For how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?
1 Cor 7:16

Think about it, we are to ‘love our neighbors as ourselves’.  Well, this is your closest neighbor!  Yahuah loved us and sent his son for us while we were yet sinners, blind and deaf.  Can you love your spouse and be a good example to him/her, even in the face of division, ridicule or hatred for wanting to keep Yahuah’s ways?  Husbands, keep the feast with your children. If your wife doesn’t want to celebrate, don’t force it.  Did Yahuah force you? Just be a good example and keep a good attitude at all times. What I wouldn’t recommend, is allowing your wife to talk you out of celebrating his feasts/Shabbats.

Wives with unequally yoked or unbelieving husbands, I would never suggest you rebel against them, but do as much as you can, when you can.

“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Messiah is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.”
Ephesians 5:23

Prayer and fasting leading up to these days for deliverance is highly recommended.  Who knows if Yahuah would hear you and open your husband’s eyes, or at a minimum, allow you to keep the high holy days.  I’ve heard and seen testimony after testimony. Yahuah is good my brethren, just stay faithful and patient!

The End-Times & Days Ahead

Time is short brethren, we must take all this very seriously! As we mentioned at the outset of this study, many are physically prepping for the rough days ahead.  No doubt, as the scriptures support such an action.

“The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Proverbs 27:12

Likewise, Messiah told his followers to flee when they saw danger.

And when you shall see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter there into. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Luke 21:20-22

Notwithstanding, now is the time, and even more so the days ahead, will be an amazing opportunity to spread the truth. While the world is selling fear, we can offer the alternative, The Way. The true gospel of our Messiah and walking as he walked. I don’t think we should have a ‘bunker’ mentality. Surely a place of safety (especially for women and children) is a no-brainer at this point, but don’t lose sight of what our mission really is — being ambassadors of Messiah. The light of the world, the restorers of the breach.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16

If we, the light is in constant hiding, we will be the light under the bushel. Perhaps even the man with one talent.

“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’ But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Matthew 25:14-30

Will you be fruitful with what has been given to you?  Understanding our true messiah and Yahuah’s Torah is an immense revelation, one that not many have been given in this late hour.  What you do with it is up to you. What is your part to play in his kingdom, and are you doing it?  Or are you wasting the ‘talent’ he’s given you?

Deuteronomy 30 and The Regathering

Deuteronomy 30 contains a massive prophecy about these end days. A time when many would wake up and come back to his Torah with all their hearts — that this would be the marker in time right before we are regathered and given our inheritance. These are exiting times brethren!

Deuteronomy 30 Aramaic Targums
And it will be, when all these words of blessings, or their contraries, which I have set in order before you shall have come upon you, you will be converted in your hearts to return unto My fear, in all the dispersions (among) the nations where Yahuah will have scattered you. The upright of you will be favored with a blessed repentance; and though you have sinned, yet shall your repentance come up unto the glorious throne of Yahuah your Elohim, if you will hearken to His Word according to all that I have commanded you this day, you, and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul. And His Word will accept your repentance with favor, and will have mercy upon you, and He will gather you again from all the nations whither Yahuah your Elohim had scattered you. Though you may be dispersed unto the ends of the heavens, from thence will the Word of Yahuah gather you together by the hand of Elijah the great priest, and from thence will He bring you by the hand of the King Mashiach. And the Word of Yahuah your Elohim will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed by inheritance, and you shall possess it, and He will bless you and increase you more than your fathers. And Yahuah your Elohim will take away the foolishness of your heart, and of your children’s heart; for He will abolish evil desire from the world, and create good desire, which will give you the dictate to love Yahuah your Elohim with all your heart and soul, that your lives may flow on for evermore”

May we be found worthy to enter into the Kingdom and may he give us wisdom to stay in his path until the very end.

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see Yahuah”
