32:7-12 – Turning the fear over to Yah who delivers. (Hezekiah, Jehosephat, Elisha, Samuel Gideon etc…)

  • Faith and preparation.
  • A good time to remember how to pray in these types of situations.
    • Give reverence to him
    • Acknowledge his might
    • State the situation
    • Proclaim the promises Yah has given through his word
    • Ask for deliverance.

32:9 – Promise, vision, dream from YHWH doesn’t mean the fulfillment of such won’t come with trials, tribulations etc

Idols today & Elephant in the room

Screens & Digital Worlds

Phones, TVs, gaming systems, social media

  • Time spent with
    • The first thing we check in the morning
    • The last thing we turn to at night
  • The place we escape instead of seeking YHWH or completing tasks/responsibilities
  • What we spend our time doing (reverence / love)
  • Primary or main source of joy, satisfaction

  • Torah-breaking content?

    • Central themes in most tv and games are not in alignment with Torah
      • Homosexuality
      • Adultery
      • Nakedness uncovering
      • Divination
      • Sorcery
      • Witchcraft
      • Magic
      • Consulting spirits
      • Stealing (Mario)
      • Shedding innocent blood (Call o duty)
        • Even if you don’t take part, you participate
        • Agree with (opposite of not standing against the blood)

Why this can be idolatry:
They capture attention, shape thinking & decisions, and often disciple more than Scripture does.

A simple test:
Do they interrupt your time with God more than God interrupts your time with them?

Witchcraft / Sorcery / Enchantment ect.

  • Who knowing the judgment of God… not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:32)

You may not be committing the act, but if you:

  • Enjoy it
  • Laugh at it
  • Are entertained by it
  • Coming into agreement with

Questions

Am I entertained by what YHWH calls detestable?

Is this shaping my desires or dulling conviction?

Would I comfortably watch this in the presence of Messiah?
