The Seriousness of Passover (2nd Passover)

How amazing are the times we live in! Though we are encompassed by darkness in the world, YHWH is keeping the light (Pro 6:23) burning bright for his people continually, just as it was for Israel while in Egypt.

The Most High has been waking up his remnant, bringing them back into the fold, and true service to him. A major part of this paradigm shift is escaping the pagan traditions handed down to us by our forefathers, and embracing the eternal commands YHWH has given his people, reinforced by the testimony His Son gave us.

And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer: For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of Elohim. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of Elohim shall come. And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

Luke 22:15-20

Even though Messiah fulfilled the Passover, he didn’t come to do away with it. On the contrary, he instructs us (commands us) to do it, in remembrance of him.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law (Torah), or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:17-19

Even the apostle Paul instructs us to keep the Passover

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Messiah our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1 Corinthians 5:7-9

Lastly, did you know YHWH blesses us with a massive promise, just for celebrating this appointed time?

Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with you, neither shall there be leaven seen with you in all your quarters. And you shall show your son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which YHWH did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt. And it shall be for a sign unto you upon your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes, that YHWH’s law may be in your mouth: for with a strong hand has YHWH brought you out of Egypt. You shall therefore keep this ordinance in his season from year to year. And it shall be for a mark upon your hand, and for frontlets between your eyes: for by strength of hand YHWH brought us forth out of Egypt

Exodus 13:7-10,16

Compare this promise with another passage:

And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Revelation 13:16

Which mark will you have on you?

2ND PASSOVER

The underlying reason for this short study, is to solidify the importance of this most holy feast day. In fact, it’s so important to YHWH, that he has created a ‘make-up’ day for those who missed it. It’s called 2nd Passover.

And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the Passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day: And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of YHWH in his appointed season among the children of Israel? And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what YHWH will command concerning you. And YHWH spoke unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the Passover unto YHWH. The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the Passover they shall keep it.

Numbers 9:6-12

Just in-case you missed the first, second Passover is almost here. On the calendar we follow, the 2nd Passover meal will be eaten on the evening (at sunset) of 5/23/24. The week of unleavened bread will continue through the evening of 5/30/24. The evening of 5/23 through the evening of 5/24 is a Sabbath rest (no work except food preparation). Likewise, the evening of 5/29 through the evening of 5/30 is also a Sabbath rest (no work except food preparation).

For more information as to how to celebrate, please see our full study from this year.

As a side note, if you kept first Passover, there is no reason to observe the second, that is, unless some friends or family invites you over to do so with them 🙂

Lastly, there are some amazing points regarding 2nd Passover and the end-times that may interest you. For that, Steve at TorahFamily.org has much to say on the matter:

YHWH bless you and keep you
YHWH make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you
YHWH lift up his countenance upon you, and give you shalom (peace)
