Week 47 – “RE’eh”  which is “to see”.  Deut 11:26-16:17

Ch.11

11:28 –  Life or death (choose) – Verses

Ch.12

12:3 – We should be doing the same in our walk – tear down the Idols!  (so much Idolatry in our world)

12:4-6– Jerusalem.  – Celebrate out of Jerusalem today? – Verses

  • Natsarim 6:46-47 (pdf 66)
  • (Reminder) – We must balance this command with the dozens of commands to keep the feasts perpetually.
  • High places Eze 16

12:7 – The commandment is to rejoice!!!!

12:8 – Days of the judges – Verses

  • Spirit of Elijah comes and restores all things (unite the body?)

12:9 – rest – Verses

12:14 – Together we are the temple – Verse

12:23 – BLOOD

  • Not extremely common in U.S.
  • Common in Europe & Asia
  • Myoglobin is not blood (steaks)

12:30 – How does the world celebrate Yahuah and Yahusha? (Christmas, easter, etc)

12:32 – Do not add to, or take away (Hannukah?)

Ch.13

13:1 – Test of a prophet (two parts required – sign coming to pass and leading towards Torah)

13:4 – This is how we serve him – Verses

  • Even false prophets/teachers can produce miracles – link

  • Demonstratable fruit of obedience and presence of the spirit (Gal 5)

13:6 – Loyalty to Him above all – verses

13:9-11 – These rules are not to be carried out in dispersion

  • Healthy fear needed within his camp
  • Achan
  • Korah
  • Nadab & Abihu
  • Baal Peor
  • (may seem savage, or severe, but this world is the result of the lack of healthy fear)

Ch.14

14:2 – He wants us to be holy, set-apart, different than everyone else

  • What we eat lets him know who’s his
  • This is not a light matter
    • Garden of Eden (we cannot say he doesn’t care what we eat)

14:3: Food laws again – important. Isaiah 66:15-17

14:11 – Exclusionary list

14:20 – repeated

14:21 – In his mother’s milk – link

14:24-26 – A good set of instructions for us.  Also, wine/liquor is not a sin – drunkenness where there is excess is. Testament of Judah ch. 3

  • “whatsoever thy soul lusteth for” is not an open license to consume anything

14:25 – Currency can be tithes also

Ch.15

15:1-3, this is certainly something we can keep in our day! (even loans are candelled)

15:4-5 – a promise of an end to poverty IF we diligently keep his commanements

15:7-11 – Verses regarding the poor & lending – Verses

  • Servitude back then (like contract employee today – indentured servitude)

Imagine if Torah was implemented worldwide tomorrow?

  • Tyrannical monopolies end
  • 1% owning 90% ends
  • Debt-based systems collapse
  • Debts cancelled
  • Ancestral lands return to their owners
  • Equalizer / equity

15:19 – Firstling reminer

  • If firstling is blemished, he will not accept it
